Mac Pressed Powder For Indian Skin Review

The MAC Next to Nothing Pressed Powder is the latest addition to MAC’s huge offering of powder products. The packaging of these pressed powders are those typical MAC pressed powders, round black hard case which mentioned the shade name at the back. This pressed powder comes with a thin puff. But, MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder was one of my first ever products from MAC and it was sitting in my pretty little golden makeup pouch feeling neglected and throwing tantrums for not getting any attention.(I know it was throwing tantrums because yesterday it flipped open inside the pouch and created a little mess). Majority of the time I find it's around NC35, NC40, NC42, NC43, NC44 or NC45 I feel most Bollywood actresses mention MACs Studio Fix powder foundation. I think a few mention NC40- NC43, I know for sure Priyanka Chopra uses NC43.

  • Dark — deep caramel

  • Dark Deep — rich golden bronze

While I am in the shade Medium Dark. Its priced at Rs. 2,250/-.

MY EXPERIENCE

These pressed powders have the silkiest texture, make my skin look radiant, and no one knows my secret! (Well, now YOU do!)

These have an almost creamy consistency, which I love, and they don’t make my dry spots look drier or break up as the day goes on, but I think they also look a little more obvious on the skin than Mineralize Skinfinish. It has more pigmentation/coverage than I was expecting but nothing heavy be any means and its very buildable depending on your needs.

If you have a favourite foundation already, this will be a nice pressed powder to set the foundation. This is something that I’m doing currently and have been loving it.

Makeup is love and so is MAC 🙂 .Today’s post is all about some gorgeous MAC lipstick shades that will look amazing on anyone with Indian skin tones. First let me share two little tips with you all.

  1. While choosing or selecting your lip shades when you go to any makeup store, it is advisable that you don’t judge the shade under the chrome lights that normally every store has. Just put on that shade you are after, come out of the store and then check it. It works best under natural light as you know the actual shade and its undertones.
  2. To pull off your lipstick nicely, a lip liner is needed to do justice to the shade you are wearing. So it is important that you apply lip liners. They not only define your lips but also stop your lipstick from bleeding.

So, lets get straight away to my top favourite MAC lipsticks for Indian skin tones: I will start from the lighter tones and move towards the darker ones.

NUDE SHADES

VELVET TEDDY: ( Matte Finish) It has a purply pink tone to it. The shade looks absolutely gorgeous if you do smokey eyes and choose to wear some cool tones for your clothes. Dramatic eye makeup is advisable to pull off this shade otherwise it looks a bit washed out on its own. The shade looks amazing on someone from lighter to medium skin tones.

PERSISTENCE: ( Matte Finish) Its like a nudish brown. That perfect nude shade which you can wear everyday for work, being a nude it does not make you look washed out because of the browny undertones rather than pinky and peachy. It again looks amazing with smokey eyes.

TWIG: (Satin Finish) Pinkish nude which is subtle and not very bright. This shade looks absolutely gorgeous on any skin tone. It is kind of a purply pink. It looks beautiful with white dresses and will make your makeup look very fresh if you are planning to wear a nude shade for an afternoon tea with your cool toned clothes. This is a trusted shade, use it with confidence.

TAUPE: ( Matte Finish) I guess it is no news that taupe is one of my favourite shades in MAC.The shade can be described as a muted reddish- brown. It looks amazing on people between NC35- NC40 of MAC’s studio fix compact. I use it all day everyday. It goes so well with all my outfits. Whether in the morning or night time, this colour looks gorgeous.

MEHR: ( Creamy & Smooth Finish) Mehr looks beautiful on any skin tone. One thing definitely worth trying with Mehr is to go for a dramatic eye makeup look to accentuate the lipstick on your lips. It goes very well with smokey eyes other wise you can feel a little bit washed out as it is a bluish pink tone. This shade can be used as an everyday colour for work, lunch dates and night out plans.

PINK SHADES

ALL FIRED UP: (Matte Finish) It is a reddish pink with blue tones, such a gorgeous and vibrant pink. It brightens up the skin tone making it look very fresh and adds an oomph factor to your overall look. It is a great shade if you are planning to wear a pink lipstick for your wedding. This shade is always a great choice for night outs and parties.

REBEL : (Satin Finish) Rebel is a unique shade, more berry toned than pink and this is one such colour which looks amazing on any skin tone and anybody can pull off this colour with ease. Though it looks very purply but on application you can see its actual colour which is very feminine.

FLAT OUT FABULOUS : (Matte Finish) It’s kind of purplish pink and super pigmented. It is universally a very flattering shade, bold and bright. It instantly brightens up the face.

UP THE AMP: (Amplified Creme Finish) MAC describes this shade as “ Lavender Violet”. It has a very rich creamy finish, easy on lips, pigmentation is good which I like on my lipsticks.

RED SHADES

RUBY WOO: (Matte Finish) It’s a bright red with blue tones to it. Absolutely loved by all MAC lovers. No matter what skin tone you are in, Ruby Woo just brightens up the entire look.

RUSSIAN RED: (Matte Finish) I will say it’s an orangish red with blue tones if you compare to Ruby Woo. This is one of my absolute favourites after Ruby Woo in MAC red shades. This colour looks bright on my skin tone and it is super pigmented. Being in the matte finish category, it is not at all drying rather feels smooth on the lips on application. This is one such colour which looks gorgeous on photos.

DIVA : (Matte Finish) This can be a staple to any Indian skin tone. It’s a reddish-burgundy. You can pull off the colour very easily as maroon shades are liked by many of us and it gives a freshness to the entire makeup look. A perfect shade for autumnwinter or any wedding season.

I hope this post will help you choose your colour the next time you visit a MAC store!! 🙂

Have a nice day everyone and thanks for dropping by
